Press Information
This year the world-renowned `HGJM` will take place from the 5th to 7th of August on the grounds of the Golfclub Heddesheim for the seventh year in succession. The International Juniors Tournament, already has a well-established tradition and has helped set the standard for the tournaments of the new `World Juniors Golf Series`. Delegations from several countries interested in implementing this concept have announced their attendance.
This year’s participation will be granted to juniors born in or after 1990.
114 young ladies and gentlemen from 18 countries will compete for the ‘Green Jacket’ under the watchful eyes of two referees from the German Golf Association. This is a worldwide unique award and honour for the juniors. Almost incomparable is the fact that there is no cut, thus enabling all participants to play for all three days.
Compared to previous years, the golfing quality has again increased tremendously.
All together 8 national teams have registered. The entry handicap for male juniors stands at
- 1.1 and for female juniors at -1.8.
36 participants will start with a "+"-hcp.
The Danish Lucas Bjerregaard (hcp +3.8) will head the young gentlemen whilst the American Britanny Altomare, hcp +2.0 (member of the Junior Ryder Cup Team 2006) will head the young ladies.
Best German participant is Moritz Lampert, hcp + 3.2 from the Golf Club St. Leon. (member of the Junior Ryder Cup Team 2008).
Last year’s winner, Maximilian Mayer from the Golfclub ‘Am Reichswald’ near Nürnberg will try to win his 2nd Green Jacket in this extremely strong field of participants.
The widespread top-class reputation of the HGJM is best demonstrated by the planned visit of the President of the "Woman's Golf South Africa". She will be attending this prestigious event with three representative players.
