Report of Day 2 of the Icelandic Junior Masters 2009
*A narrow lead for Andri Mar and Marina in their groups.*
During a wonderful summers day at Hella Golf Course Andri Mar Oskarsson and Marina Stuetz kept their lead at the top of the Icelandic Junior Masters. Today Marina scored 73, (+3) to take her total to a level par, one shot better than Latvian Mara Puisite who scored today´s best 71 (+1). Mara´s sister, Krista holds the 3rd place at five over par. The overall scores today in the Girls group were very good, the lowest 71 and the highest 79. Well done.
Local boy Andri kept his cool today scoring level par 70, with 4 birdies and 4 bogies, his total still -2. Two of his fellow countrymen also scored level par today, Haraldur Franklin, who was three under par having finished 12 holes, but bogies at 13,14 and 18 put him to level par for today which gives him a total of +1 and Axel Boasson posted 4 birdes and 4 bogies for level par today. Kevin Giulini from Swiss scored +1 today and holds 2nd place at level par.
The postgame after round one was a „Long drive competition“. The girls winner was Jana Niedballa, Germany, and the boys winner was Axel Boasson, Iceland, hammering the ball 327 meters.
The final day has been built up to be one of great exitement for the players, who now get to enjoy an adventurous „Players Night“ at the beautiful Þórsmörk.
