Tournament Rules
United States Junior Masters
Eligibility:
Eligible to play are boys and girls who
(1) were born 1991 or later,
(2) are members of a of registered golf club, and
(3) have Amateur Status conforming to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the rules of golf.
The competition is a handicap qualifying event.
Entry Handicap for Boys must not exceed -1.5.
Entry Handicap for Girls must not exceed -3.5.
Entries: Closing Date, Fee
Players MUST become a member of the World Junior Golf Foundation and pay the $50 membership fee to enter. The closing date for entries is Friday, October 1, 2010, at 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Number of entries:
78 Participants.
If more than this number of entries is submitted, the tournament selection committee will select based on the following combination of criteria: handicap, international event finishes, and national events finishes.

In the event of a tie the winner will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. In the event places 2nd - 5th have ties Appendix 1 Part C of the USGA rules book will be enforced. This states that a scorecard tiebreaker will take place. Play will not be extended past December 22, 2010.
Starting Times:
8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M off the 1st and 10th tee of the Ocean Course
The optional condition for time of starting as prescribed in “Appendix I” of The Rules of Golf is in effect.
Prizes:
1st - 5th gross: Boys
1st - 5th gross: Girls
Special Prizes will be given to winners of the “Contests” Boys and Girls.
Rules & Close of Competition
The tournament is played in accordance with the rules of the United States Golf Association (USGA) and the local rules. To view USGA Rules: http://www.usga.org/Rule-Books/Rules-of-Golf/Rules-and-Decisions/. Questions will be settled by the on site Rules Committee and all decisions are final. The Competitions is deemed to be closed when the trophy has been presented.
Golf Balls & Driver Heads:
Only golf balls on the most current list of USGA List of Conforming Golf Balls may be used. Only driver heads on the most current list of USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads may be used. For a current list of Ball and Driver Heads visit:

Transportation:
Players must walk at all times. Optional condition as prescribed in Appendix I “Rules of Golf” is in effect. Players can’t ride on any form of transportation unless authorized by the committee. Caddies will not be permitted during the competition.
Publicity & Promotion:
All players accept that photos and video taken during the tournament can be published.
Competition Committee:
The members of the committee will be announced before the start of the competition.
Dress Code:
Players are expected to be neat in their appearance and clothing. Shirts with collars are required during all tournament & practice rounds. No Jeans are to be worn during all tournament & practice rounds.
Behavior:
Rude unsportsmanlike conduct or improper behavior in general, including the use of alcohol and drugs, will not be tolerated and will jeopardize further participation at the tournament.
Conditions & Schedule:
The competition committee reserves the right to alter starting times and amend the conditions if necessary. Decisions of the competition committee will be final.
