a. The World Junior Golf Series was established to help put all juniors on the same playing field regardless of financial position, race, creed, sex or ranking. The ultimate goal of the series is not just to produce championship athletes, but rather to assist juniors in becoming well rounded, well educated leaders of tomorrow, whether on or off the golf course.
The World Junior Golf Series (hereinafter “Series”) recognizes that many young athletes never reach their full potential due to financial inability, and seeks to help forward their cause in golf as well as academically, and though enhanced life skills.
The culmination of all Series programs will make it possible for the Series to not only to provide support to those seeking help, but it will also have a self-generated venue to identify top young talent. Such young talent may in turn seek the assistance of the Series. This ability to observe the top juniors in the world in competitive situations as well as in socially formal and informal settings, is an inherent synergy that exists from within the Series. It is this special synergy that will perpetuate the organization and market its cause and effect.

These applicants will be required to provide balance sheets detailing their inability to provide such training within their current income level. Combined household incomes exceeding $275,000 annually is not eligible for any percentage of a Series scholarship.
c. Funds will be solicited from a number of sources including but not limited to corporations, foundations, and individuals in the form of gifts, grants, stocks, bonds, land, asset donations, endowments, and planned gifts.
d. Series Scholarship recipients will receive a maximum amount of $ 52,000 per year to be applied towards academic tuition, golf academy tuition, meals, boarding, planned social activities recreation, tournament travel expenses, and tournament entry fees. Tournament sanctioning, a World Junior Golf Series world ranking system data collect ion, administration and marketing shall constitute a percentage of the funds raised by the organization and are not designated for scholarship use only. A percentage of funds not specifically designated for scholarships shall be designated to scholarships nonetheless. Tournaments and sanctioned events will also conduct their own fundraising for the general costs and administration of an event commiserate with that of like events. Series funds shall go to the promotion of character enriching activities, transportation and boarding for those who are in need, and for the forwarding of the mission of the Series.
e. The procedure for determining the amount of a full Series Scholarship is taken from the “published rate card” of possible pending Board of Trustee (Hereinafter “Board”) approved organizations that will provide full-time golf instruction, physical and mental training, accredited academic instruction, room and board, meals, and social activities.
Partial scholarships shall be awarded based on need as a percentage against the rate established above.
f. The will be a select ion committee that consists of two members of the Board, three advisory seats, that will also be selected by the Board all for an initial term of two years.
Donors who give a restricted grant or an endowment, i .e., for Italian Americans, that donor shall have a vote with respect to the recipient of such scholarship only, in the event of a tie that cannot be resolved, the vote of the Executive Director of the World Junior Golf Series shall prevail.
Each applicant who meets the criterion will be reviewed and considered. After such review, the Board shall select a list of applicants to interview (25%) twenty-five percent larger than the number of scholarships to be awarded. It will be the decision of the Board to interview these candidates in person or via teleconference.
g. In such case an applicant is related to a member of the Board, the staff, or the staff of one of the vendor institutions providing services to scholarship recipients or Series, such relative may not be part of the select ion committee, nor make at tempts to influence such process. Further, if such applicant is selected, the board must submit for public record an explanation of why such applicant was selected over other applicants within the pool who also met the required qualifications.
Because the terms of the Selection Committee are limited to two years, selected by an unbiased Board, and family members must stand a strict test of scrutiny, it is our assumption that there will not be biased select ions. In the event a bias is suspected, the Executive Director of the Series should investigate such suspicion. In the event a bias is discovered that member of the Selection Committee shall be asked to step down and the Board shall immediately vote to replace the removed member.
